MEDIA STRATEGY PRACTICE
At KGPR we take media relationships as seriously as our relationships with our family and friends in fact sometimes it’s hard to tell our friends from our media contacts. Why is that important? Because the stronger relationships you have with reporters across the nation, the better opportunity and probability you will get your message into a key media outlet or publication. Of course, you have to have a compelling, newsworthy story or it does not matter even if your mother is the reporter. Core capabilities in our media practice include:
Strategy and message development is critical to position your company’s new campaign, key executive, new product/service or philanthropy. Showcasing Bank of the West’s trademark friendly service took a twist when they used a retro-toaster to underscore their throwback customer service. They gave away toasters to everyone that opened up a new account just like banks did in yesteryear. Well, media jumped all over the Turning Bread into Toast campaign resulting in more than 20 million media impressions in national and regional publication including Brand Week, Advertising Age, and about 25 others.
Visibility and media placements can take an organization from a little-known operation to as well-known as it needs. Working with KGPR we help you create your story, and then through our network of relationships we find the best place to tell it. The Back to School Clothing Drive, an organization with 40 years of history serving Valley of the Sun school children is well on its way to becoming one of the best known, most respected, and well-funded children’s charities in the Valley. Helping launch Nightlight After Hours Pediatrics generated significant coverage for this first black-owners women enterprise of its kind in Houston. Raising the visibility of Greater Phoenix and GPEC’s efforts to attract companies to the region helped put Phoenix on the map of reporters around the globe. Coverage secured include:
The Arizona Republic, Business Journal of Phoenix, KPNX 12 News, Houston Chronicle, The Houston Business Journal, KTRK-ABC News 13, CBS affiliate KHOU 11, FOX 26, Houston Style, and Black Enterprise, Business Week, Barrons, The Economist, Financial Times, The London Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Yomiuri Shimbun, Agence France Presse, Portland Business Journal, Sacramento Bee, Sacramento Business Journal, New Mexico Business Weekly, Daily Oklahoman, amongst others.
Press tours can give your company or issue intimate expose and attention from highly targeted reporters. We’ve organized, and managed dozens of media tours from foreign reporters coming to Phoenix and Phoenix-based companies and execs going to New York, London, and Paris.
Press conferences play an important role in any media strategy whether it’s at the National Press Club for foreign reporters as a part of the Greater Phoenix Economic Councils efforts to raise its visibility in targeted countries, or for the Phoenix Industrial Development Authority to announce a first-time homebuyers program.
